How silicone sleeves are produced?

  • baby item manufacturer

Silicone sleeves are silicone rubber products produced from high temperature vulcanised rubber as the main raw material through a moulding and vulcanisation process. We can see silicone covers on all kinds of items in our life, such as cup covers, remote control covers, etc. Generally, silicone covers need to go through the following processes.

② Raw material preparation
including the mixing of raw rubber, colour matching, weight calculation of raw materials, etc;
③Vulcanisation
High pressure vulcanisation equipment is used to vulcanise the silicone material into a solid state;
④Processing
The silicone cover is removed from the mould with some useless edges and holes, which need to be removed; in the industry, this process is done completely by hand, some factories also use punching machines to complete;
Screen printing
This process is only used in some silicone cases with patterns on the surface, such as black mobile phone silicone cases, in order to make it easy for the user to operate the keys, often need to screen-print the corresponding characters in the corresponding position and the mobile phone keyboard;
⑥Surface treatment
The surface treatment includes dust removal with an air gun.
⑦ Oil spraying
Silicone products in their normal state easily absorb dust in the air and have a certain stickiness. Spraying a thin layer of hand oil on the surface of the silicone cover, which can both prevent dust and make the hand feel guaranteed;
⑧Other
Other processes include additional functions given to the silicone cover by the merchant, such as dripping, laser engraving, P+R synthesis, optimised packaging, assembly with other materials and components, etc.

Attention

For ordinary silicone materials or food-grade silicone materials, it is necessary to test whether the raw materials can achieve certain product quality issues, and that the products are free of burrs and impurities and have a pass rate of 99% or more before they can be shipped.

Today various silicone covers are produced using different coloured raw materials and the degree of product requirements can vary. When refining the rubber, the raw materials should be mixed and required to be mixed for more than 30 minutes before the material can be cut, so as not to cause uneven colour of the product, resulting in the phenomenon of colour difference.

When producing, we should also pay attention to black spots and other debris, as silica gel adsorption force is relatively large, when moving will inevitably adsorb black spots and dust and other debris, any details should be strictly controlled, so that “people, machines, materials and things” should be thoroughly clean.

All in all, the main factor that causes quality problems is the detail. Only by controlling every detail of the process can it be reflected in the final product, not modified afterwards.
